CKP Competition Team

​

This year, City Kidz Playhouse will participate in the Junior Theater Festival in Atlanta, GA on January 11-14, 2024.

​

The Junior Theater Festival (JTF) is the world’s biggest and best celebration of young people performing musical theater. This is CKP's  4th time at the festival where we have always received top festival awards.

 

JTF brings together student musical theater troupes from all over the world for a weekend of musical theater mayhem and madness. Each troupe performs fifteen minutes from a Broadway Junior®️ show for adjudication by a panel of musical theater experts. The weekend also features professional development for teachers, workshops for students and parents, a New Works Showcase featuring new musical adaptations soon to be released and concludes with a grand finale concert headlined by Broadway’s best!

This year, in addition to preparing their 15 minute adjudication performance for JTF, team performers will  attend  1 small group voice class and 1 dance technique class, taught by master teachers

 

The CKP competition team is open to students from grades 6-12 and is by audition only.

City Kidz Playhouse's Beauty and the Beast opened with a beautifully danced and physically stunning narration of the story. We were immediately enchanted by their professionalism, and the movement. The physical work and dancing that the characters executed was at a Broadway level. Their commitment to the story was performed on a level far beyond their years.

Whoa! I was blown away by City Kidz Playhouse's triple threat talent showcased at JTF. When I was performing, I worked years to perfect my craft and these performers just oozed with skill and excitement and made it look easy! These students are the future of a whole generation of theatre and all of us will benefit from them starring, directing, managing, and producing theatre. We NEED them.
